This villa stands out from conventional residences due to its thoughtful spatial planning and attention to detail. It is a four-floor structure that encompasses various functional areas, including a spacious living room, a dining room, a master bedroom, two second bedrooms, and a recreation room. The indoor area spans an impressive 92.5 ping, providing ample space for relaxation and entertainment.
The design team, led by Fabio Su and including Chiung-Hsu-Su and Yu-Ting-Hwang, employed a range of materials and techniques to bring the colorful vision to life. Terrazzo stone in different colors, such as vibrant hues and transparent variations, were used alongside iron paint, fair-faced concrete, and various types of bricks. The combination of these elements creates a visually stunning and lively atmosphere throughout the villa.
One of the key features of this design is the seamless integration of soft and light arc lines, which connect each space within the villa. The use of color temperature and material texture further enhances the distinct look and feel of each area, ranging from warm and cozy to lively and energetic. This intentional design choice mirrors the gentle yet vibrant nature of the client's family, capturing their unique personality and creating a space that is both welcoming and inspiring.
The Colorful Villa project commenced in September 2021 and was completed in January 2022 in Chiayi City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the team faced the challenge of translating the satisfaction and joy experienced through the child's lollipops into spatial elements. Each space needed to have its own appearance and style while still conveying the overall theme. By carefully balancing colors, textures, and forms, the team successfully created a harmonious and uplifting environment that celebrates the spirit of joy and contentment.
For Fabio Su, this project was not just about creating a visually stunning space; it was about designing a place where the family's emotional connection and spiritual well-being could thrive. The villa serves as a sanctuary for the mother and her three daughters, a space where they can come together to relax, bond, and create lasting memories. The warm and lively colors, combined with the soft curved lines, emphasize the gracefulness and gentleness of women, resulting in a style that is truly unique and distinct from ordinary homes.
The Colorful Villa has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill. The Colorful Villa stands as a testament to the power of design to enhance quality of life and create spaces that bring joy and inspiration.
